Welcome to Impel. Have a look around and see what we do. It may even be easier to ask what we don’t do, as we do pretty much anything! Bring us a challenge, we thrive on doing the stuff others shake their heads at. Remote locations are our specialty.
About
With a huge love for the outdoors, having a full time desk job was never going to suit Chad Hooton. After spending 7 years working on and around Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park, Chad moved to Taupo in 2008. Working alongside Bike Taupo, Chad helped to create the Waihaha and Kawakawa sections of the Great Lake Trail. Working in awesomely remote places, where it’s usual that views take your breath away, Chad and the Impel team thrive on building structures, creating trail solutions and generally making the inaccessible a place where everyone can safely visit and play.
